From December 2013 we resumed our original name of Lodge St George. The explanation for this is provided elsewhere on this site. Our previous site, Yeronga Lodge, has been archived but will remain available for review. Posts on that site take in meetings and events from August 2007 to December 2013.

This site has been designed in a similar way, so that all our previous web functionality will be available here.

First Degree on Bro Nitheilan Kumaar Thanigachalam

Great night at Lodge St George welcoming another Freemason in Queensland. Bro Nitheilan Kumaar Thanigachalam was an excellent candiate.

 

Some brand new floor officers did a good job as a first outing and some excellent charge work across the board.

 

Very welcome visitors to top off the night.

Third Degree Part B on Bros Yohan Weerasinghe and Peter Cannon (Lodge St Andrew)

Last night we completed the Third Degree for Bro Yohan Weerasinghe and Bro Peter Cannon (from Lodge St Andrew 6). Congratulations to both Brothers for achieving this Masonic milestone.

 

Great to work with our Lodge St Andrew friends and also our sister lodge, Lodge Silver Cross 17.

Joint Third Degree Part A - Bros Yohan Weerasinghe and Peter Cannon (Lodge St Andrew)

This month we are running another joint Third Degree with our sister lodge, Lodge Silver Cross 17.

Our own Bro Yohan Weerasinghe and Bro Peter Cannon from Lodge St Andrew No 6 are the candidates.

Silver Cross performed Part A of the degree last week and St George is about to perform Part B tonight.

Joint Third Degree - Bros Darin Hindmarsh and Scott Kompo-Harms

A great night hosted by our sister lodge, Lodge Silver Cross, with Bros Scott Kompo-Harms and Darin Hindmarsh completing their Third Degrees.

 

Bro Scott was delighted to welcome his mentor RW Bro Harry Hepburn from Lodge Caledonia of Canberra 938 UGL of NSW & ACT who travelled to participate in the ceremony. RW Bro Harry presented both aprons.

 

We were also able to formally welcome two new affiliates, RW Bro Milan Pavasovic and Bro Clinton Symons and successfully ballot for a new member Mr Leo Monesi.

 

Many welcome visitors and fine work from the team.

 

The night was capped off with a sit down festive board (the first for some time) which was appreciated and enjoyed by all.

First Degree - Bro Devon Blignaut

Great night at Lodge St George with Bro Devon Blignaut taking his first steps in Freemasonry.

Very good work from all the officers.

Another First Degree next month on Mr Adam Bernhardt with more to come.

Joint Installation 2024

A wonderful afternoon and evening at the joint Installation meeting of Lodges Silver Cross and St George with Wor Bro Peter Watson (LSX) and Wor Bro Mepi Faoagali (LSG) being installed into their respective chairs of office.

 

A fine ceremony led by RW Bro Rodger Klopp as Installing Master and Wor Bro Simon Bell as Installing Director of Ceremonies.

 

We were delighted to welcome RW Bro Peter Wesener Assistant Grand Master Designate and a fine team of Grand Officers. Sadly the Grand Master, who was scheduled to attend, contracted Covid and was unable to be with us. We wish him a speedy recovery.

 

The ceremony was followed by a most enjoyable banquet at the Kedron Wavell Services Club where Wor Bro Alan KIngston again gave us his great Address to the Haggis.

 

Many welcome visitors and it was great to see our newer members and prospective members in attendance.

 

Second Degree - Bro Yohan Weerasinghe

Congratulations to Bro Yohan Weerasinghe who tonight was Passed to the Fellowcraft Degree in Lodge St George.

 

Good work all round and a very happy atmosphere.

 

A triple ballot for two initiates, Messrs Adam Bernhardt and Devon Blignaut, and a joining brother, Brother Gregory Sweat. All proved clear.

 

Master Elect - Wor Bro Mepi Faoagali

Congratulations to Wor Bro Mepi Faoagali who was elected as Worshipful Master for 2024/25 - his second term. Mepi will have a fine team comprising a number of Master Masons.

 

Lodge St George has been fortunate to atttract 9 members during this Masonic term - one rerurning Brother, one Joining Brother from the Grand Lodge of Pennsylvania and 7 initiates - five of whom have already entered the lodge. We have a number of further prospets we are talkiing to.

 

This has come about through the fine work of Mepi and his team. The work is good, the culture is sound and members are proud to talk about Freemasonry.

Installation is on Saturday 21 June, details to follow. As usual it will be a double installation with our sister Lodge Silver Cross 17.

Second Degree - Bro Darin Hindmarsh

Many thanks to The Stanley & General Glasgow Lodge No 37 for hosting Bro Darin Hindmarsh's 2nd Degree this evening.

 

Lodges Silver Cross and St George made a double fraternal visitation. Bro Darin is a member of both lodges.

 

Very good work and great company.
